This past weekend was my first module in my 200hr Yoga Teacher Training at My Hot Yoga Place. It was long, tough and overwhelming but mostly amazing. Yoga history lessons, posture clinics, 2 practices a day & long discussions made the days go by fast and my body ache. I am already falling more in love with Yoga and gaining confidence in my ability to teach and inspire others to love it as well. Our group of 5 girls is so diverse and learning from not only our 2 amazing teachers but each other is going to be an unforgettable journey.
One thing I really took from this weekend was the importance of leaving your Ego at the door in yoga, whether you are a student or a teacher. Yoga is not about who is the most flexible or who can do the crazy postures (while they are fun), it is about mental clarity, loving yourself & honoring your body. The Asana’s or postures are only a minute part of yoga. As a teacher I hope to honor each and every one of my students and always learn from them every second. I am learning not only about Yoga but about myself.
